Nancy Kay Arnold
Nancy Kay Arnold was a classroom teacher for 30 years. Although now retired from teaching, she continues to share her love of American History and poetry through the children's books she writes and the programs she presents to both children and adults. Her books have won numerous awards, including The Will Rogers Medallion Award, The Purple Dragonfly Award for Excellence in Children's Literature, and the Arizona Glyph Award.
Her writing has also taken her on some exciting adventures, two of which include a book signing at George Washington's Mt. Vernon Estate and presenting her program dressed as Martha Washington at the Old City Tavern in Philadelphia, where President Washington had his own private dining room. Nancy Kay received the AZFRW Teacher of the Year Award in 2011. She has served as Literacy Chairman for AZFRW and previously was a member of the Mamie Eisenhower Literacy Committee. Her other activities include being a judge for a major literary contest, which means she is reading books all winter, and she and her husband have five beautiful grandchildren, with whom they are actively involved!
You will find several of Nancy Kay's books available for purchase at our meeting!
